It’s not just a name change, it’s a level up

After performing as IDT Band for 14 years, in 2023, the band finally decided they were tired of answering the question “What does IDT stand for?” (spoiler alert: it doesn’t stand for anything. It’s a long, boring story.) But why just rename when you can re-imagine? (We’re musicians, and therefore, slightly dramatic…) The band quickly embarked on a montage across the world to recruit some of their old teammates. Most of them said “No, that was another life. I’ve put all that behind me now.” However, their former boss and founder of the band, Ashley Austin (we guess that’s her wrestling name) threw down her blacksmithing hammer, kissed her family goodbye, and said COUNT ME IN. Midtown 10 was born.

    Identity Theft played at our wedding in May 2012, and we can’t speak highly enough of our experience working with them. Identity Theft was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding band. It isn’t always easy to find a band that has a broader repertoire than the standard wedding music, but Identity Theft had an awesome playlist of current songs. They truly made our reception something special — all of our guests were dancing the entire time, and even 6+ months later we get compliments constantly on them. We planned our Austin wedding from NYC, so we had to rely on reviews when deciding on a band, and we’re so glad we did. Identity Theft really is as great as everyone says. Jared and his team were also always very professional and pleasant to interact with prior to the wedding. We highly recommend them!

Our day was planned for 13months leading up to the event and the band was one of the first contracts we signed… from that point forward the level of professionalism and consistent communication were top notch. They can literally play just about anything you would like, and they offered to learn the 2 songs that we wanted. I could not be happier with our wedding band and everyone loved them!!
