Midtown 10 and Empire 6 have been two of the most in-demand bands for high-end weddings for over 14 years. With a consistent reputation of guaranteeing a full dance floor and a crowd that doesn’t want to go home at the end of the night, these bands have truly perfected their formula for wedding receptions that people can’t stop talking about. In fact, nearly all of our bookings are based on referrals from ecstatic clients, or from guests who saw the band performing at another wedding. While Midtown 10 and Empire perform at events of all types, we first began as a single wedding band, and we’ll always have a soft spot for helping people celebrate the best day of their lives.

I LOVE this band! They were so much fun and had us dancing all night. We chose obscure songs for our dances (first dance, father-daughter) and they learned them without a problem. Our bands don’t just play songs. They crank out an experience. The show is meticulously designed from beginning to end, and over the course of a decade it has evolved into a guaranteed recipe for an incredible dance party. Immensely talented, energetic, enthusiastic, polished, professional, hard working,…just to name a few. THE PLAN
We go to work well before the wedding day. We coordinate in advance with our wedding couples and their event planners to confirm logistics, itineraries, and music preferences. You’ll work with an event concierge fully dedicated to making sure your event is nothing less than perfect. Call, text, email, or swing by the office for a cup of coffee in our lounge while we chat about your event. THE RECEPTION
The band generally performs for a four-hour period. Set times and break lengths can vary slightly depending on your itinerary, and we work with you or your planner beforehand to determine the best schedule for the most performance time with maximum momentum. Although every wedding is different, set lengths average 45 minutes to 90 minutes, and breaks are typically 15-20 minutes.
AS GUESTS ENTER
At the beginning of the night, the band (or sometimes a small trio) will often play light instrumental music at a conversational volume. Some guests elect to have DJ’ed music during this time, either to keep volume down or to save the band for party time.
THE EMCEE
Our bandleaders love introducing the couple of the hour, and are happy to be the voice of evening. They are experienced and comfortable making all introductions and announcements throughout the evening!
YOUR DANCES, YOUR SONGS
Our bands offer to learn up to three songs for your event dances, such as your first dance or parent dances. We’ve played it all, from Fiddler on the Roof to Van Halen. We always shorten these songs to a comfortable dancing duration of around two minutes.
DINNERTIME
While dinner is served and you and your guests eat, the band creates a cozy ambience with a combination of instrumental jazz, classic standards, pop ballads, or light house music.. Enjoy listening to everything from Frank Sinatra to Vanessa Carlton...
Party Mode: Unlocked (you did it!)
That’s all nice and fancy, but…LET’S PARTY. After we knock out some toasts, maybe a bouquet toss, and ceremoniously cut a cake shaped like the Millenium Falcon or whatever you’re into, it’s time to get down to business. We’ve got some mythic-level celebrating to do. Once the band is unleashed, they quickly assume their ultimate form, and take the night to the next level. Ties are loosened, the bride’s “party” dress makes an appearance, the groom attempts to sing Mr. Brightside onstage, the bridesmaids scream “I Want It That Way”.. How many ways can we say this? Bands for Audiophiles
We have a full scale, in-house production department with professionally trained staff. Why does this matter? It means that for nearly all events in the continental United States, all audio and lighting needs for the stage are provided with the band.No subcontracting third party suppliers, and total consistency, every show.
Our audio rigs are designed for up to 600 guests, and can be augmented for even more. We are also happy to coordinate with your existing production provider, and either arrange or advise on international production arrangements.
High-End Lighting
When we got in the business, having an amazing light show was an industry standard, and while other bands may have quietly let that trend die in favor of bringing the bare minimum, we never grew out of that phase. For over a decade our bands have been easily recognized by their amazing stage lighting and popular “video wall”. Meticulously automated to dance and move along with each song, our stage lighting takes the visual element of your party to another level (and it looks great in photos and videos). Our included lighting options are:- Minimal | This preserves a conservative look throughout the whole night, shifts the focus to your other decor, and provides just enough light to illuminate the band.
- Vibe Lighting | Soft, Beautiful, Glowing Fixtures that look great in a static mode during dinner, and are mesmerizing when they kick into action during the dance set.
- The Video Wall | Our extremely popular video panel setup that completely transforms the stage into a fully immersive spectacle. If you want to wow your guests and have the coolest pics to post on IG, this option might be for you.
