WE HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING A PART OF HUNDREDS OF WEDDINGS OVER THE YEARS, WITH JUST SHY OF TEN YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PROVIDING HIGH-END WEDDING BANDS.IDT BAND AND EMPIRE 6 HAVE BECOME TWO OF THE MOST PRIVATELY REFERRED BANDS IN TEXAS, WITH THE VAST MAJORITY OF WEDDINGS BOOKED AFTER ATTENDING A WEDDING WHERE THEY PERFORMED, OR SPEAKING TO SOMEONE WHO HAD. OUR FORMULA FOR SUPER FUN WEDDING RECEPTIONS REVOLVES AROUND CLIENT INPUT, CUSTOMIZATION, AND LIVING OUTSIDE THE NORM OF THE STEREOTYPICAL “WEDDING BAND.”

  • The Plan

We go to work well before the wedding day. We coordinate in advance with our wedding couples and their event planners to confirm logistics, itineraries, and music preferences. We’re available for consultations, site-visits, or just a quick visit over coffee. If filling out information is more your style, you can view your event details in your own online client portal.

  • The Music

It should go without saying that any luxury band is going to have an expansive song list, hopefully with all the classics, some extremely new music, and some custom arrangements or mashups. While we absolutely have this prerequisite checked, our reputation is not just for quantity of songs, but for our taste in choosing them. We want you to connect with what you’re hearing, and we have mastered the art of the “throwback”.

  • The Reception

The band generally performs for a four-hour period. Set times and break lengths are entirely dependent on the itinerary, and we work with you or your planner beforehand to determine the best schedule for the most performance time with maximum momentum. Although, every wedding is different, set lengths average 45 minutes to 90 minutes, and breaks are typically 15-20 minutes.

  • As Guests Enter

The band often plays as guests enter the room, usually light instrumental jazz at a conversational volume. Some guests elect to have DJ’ed music during this time to maximize the band’s performance time later in the night.

  • The Emcee

Our bandleaders love introducing the couple of the hour, and are happy to be the voice of evening. They are experienced and comfortable making all introductions and announcements throughout the evening.

  • Your Dances, Your Songs

Our bands offer to learn up to three songs for your event dances, such as your first dance or parent dances. We’ve played it all, from Fiddler on the Roof to Van Halen. We typically shorten these songs to a comfortable dancing duration of around two minutes.

  • Dinnertime

While dinner is served and you and your guests eat, the band creates a cozy ambience with a combination of instrumental jazz, classic standards, and pop ballads. Enjoy listening to everything from Frank Sinatra to John Mayer.
